PDP leaders and members in Edo North and South Senatorial Districts of Edo State have agreed to work in unison in order to ensure victory for the party in the fourth coming governorship elections. This followed the reconciliatory tour of 13 local government areas in the two districts by the foremost PDP governorship aspirant in the state, Engr. Gideon Ikhine.
The party leaders in the various local governments, described the visits by Engr. Gideon Ikhine as a divine intervention and timely. Some of them said that the last state congress almost brought the party to its knees leading to some aggrieved members decamping to the APC and some others taking the party to court. They agreed to sit together as a family to resolve all grievances amongst themselves. Engr. Gideon Ikhine promised to join hands with the leaders to woo the aggrieved members who have left the party back to its fold. He said that some members who left have already come back and more are expected to follow.
On the coming governorship election in the state, Engr. Gideon Ikhine assured the party faithful that once the PDP is united in Edo state and with him as the candidate, the APC would be flushed out of the state house.
The governorship aspirant, who has been nicknamed ‘The Bridge Builder’ by party members, will embark on similar reconciliatory tours of the five local government areas in Edo Central Senatorial District soonest.
